Know where you are headed

Here is some useful information that we would like you to know to help plan your trip better.

-Trishul Lodge is not a resort but is more of a private cottage that is let out as a whole or as per individual room requirements. It is to give our guests a feeling of being at home in their own private escape in the hills.

- This picturesque place is ideal for nature lovers, Bird watchers and for people who just want to relax, unwind and have a laid back holiday.

-The cottage due to its location, at times may face power cuts which are unavoidable.Being part of the Himalayan cover and passionate about maintaining its beauty, we avoid the use of generators to omit any input of carbondioxide by us.The cottage however is well equipped with an invertor,torches and candles for emergencies.

-To keep you warm we do have hot water showers through LPG heaters which are highly effective. During peak winters, due to the cold the heating may be a little slow, but hot water will be provided in buckets.

-Water being a valuable resource and even more precious at a location such as this, we try and minimize wastage as much as possible.If your bath towels need to be washed everyday, we request you to leave them in the basket or floor in the washroom, otherwise we will have them changed as per schedule. This really helps us to save water.

-The cottage as we mentioned has been built to give a home like feel and so has an open kitchen attached to the lobby. You can watch the chef at work as you relax by the fireplace in the lobby. There are three bedrooms, two on the ground level and one on top.Each level has an unattached bathroom and shower facility is available only in the ground level bathroom.Again, we wish for the place to have a private home feeling and therefore have made no changes to the original design.

-During winters, gas heaters and hot water bottles are readily provided in your room to keep you warm.

-For those of us who cant stay without being connected,the cottage is equipped with Broad-band facility and you can surf the internet for free. A televison with TATA SKY connection, DVD's and VCD's are available in the common room for a time of leisure and entertainment.

- Trishul Lodge is about five kilometres away from one of the best maintained golf courses in Uttranchal- the Upat Golf Course. It's only open for Indians and you would require a permit from the Indian army if you would like to play there.

-Lastly may we suggest you bring a small notebook along and make an entry everyday, maybe add a sketch or two of the view from your room and check out the stars in the middle of the night - they are incredible!
